Spring Has Sprung!

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a chance to stop by the Multicultural Fair on Friday. I enjoyed hearing about all the different cultures we have right here in our classroom. We learned about yummy foods, clothing, and even about a few ancestors.

Please continue to encourage your child to complete the PAWS library reading program.  Forms are due this Wednesday February 28th. Thank you!

Thursday, March 1st, students will participate in the Big Art Day during their essentials time.  Mrs. Weir is encouraging each child to bring in a smooth rock for a school wide project that day.

Also on Thursday, we will be retaking our class picture.  There was an issue found when printing the picture and so the company is coming back to the school Thursday morning to take the picture again.

This Friday, March 2nd, we are heading to the Blanton Museum and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. If you have not done so, please return your child’s permission slip and $2.00 admission fees as soon as possible. We will wear our CCE t-shirts, and everyone needs to bring a disposable sack lunch, drink and snack.

If you are interested in being a chaperone for this fun, exciting field trip, please let me know. We would love for you to join us.

Enjoying your children,
Mrs. McDonald

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Lexi for being our marvelous MVP of the week! We enjoyed learning more about our special classmate when she shared her banner with us.

Happy Birthday to Maddalynn (last Monday) and Hyunsik (last Friday)!

A huge THANK YOU to all who helped make our Valentine’s Day party such a success! The celebration included a challenging craft with marshmallows, yummy ice cream sundaes, and finally the best part of all, opening of our Valentines! Thank you all for my cards with sweet sentiments, yummy treats, flowers, and love!

Friendly reminder… no school on Monday and Tuesday.  Enjoy your loooong weekend!

Gratefully,

Love is in the Air!

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Jillian for being our marvelous MVP. We enjoyed learning more about our special classmate when she shared her banner with us on Tuesday!

We had such a GREAT time in Robolab Friday. The kids created bots and programmed them to navigate to certain destinations and backing in and out of parking spaces. The students amaze me on how quickly they can design, build and program! Thank you to Dr. Smith and our parent volunteers in helping with this amazing program.

Your child brought home his/her individual Spring Picture envelope Friday.  The turnaround time is quick if you want to order.  They all turned out really cute!!

Our Valentine’s Day party is Wednesday, February 14, from 2:00-2:45.  If you are planning on joining us for the festivities, please email: cheryl_garihan@roundrockisd.org. She will have a printed badge prepared for you. Students may start bringing in their boxes or bags and Valentines on Tuesday, February 13th.

Thank you in advance to our homeroom parents for organizing our Valentine’s Day class party and to all parents helping at the event. The festivities will be so much fun and will include the ultimate thrill….checking out the treasures that await in their Valentine’s Day boxes. I love watching the excitement that builds as the children tear open their envelopes!  I hope to see you all there!

Enjoying your children,
