Happy 100th Day of School!

Dear Parents,

It was great to see everyone at our STEAM night. Thank you for supporting not only our third graders but all the amazing things our CCE students are doing! Fun was had by all, and I loved watching all the families explore together.

Happy Birthday to Luke last Monday!

Congratulations to Aattoja for participating and placing in the Science Fair!

YUMMY!!!  Thank you to the PTA for providing the faculty and staff with a delicious luncheon Friday.  These Friday Feasts are very much appreciated.

Happy 100th day of school! It is hard to believe that the 100th day of school is Friday, February 1st!  We have learned a lot in 100 days and are very excited to celebrate our accomplishments.

Enjoying your children,
Mrs. McDonald

VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY
Valentine’s bags and a class list were sent home in last week’s Tuesday folder. I hope your children have been thinking of a creative way to decorate their box/bag.

Boxes are due in class on Wednesday, February 13th. Valentine cards may be brought to school starting on that same date. Please be sure your child prepares a Valentine card for every student in the class. Our class list was included in last week’s Tuesday folder,. Since Valentine's Day is a party day, your child may attach a small piece of candy or treat to their Valentine cards.

PARENT SURVEY
If you haven’t already done so, please take a few minutes and do the parent survey. This provides such great feedback to our school and we love to know what you are liking about CCE and suggestions on how we can continue to grow and do the best for all our students. It is quick and easy and greatly appreciated. You can find the parent survey here.

Happy MLK Day!

Dear Parents,

STEAM Night is on Thursday, January 24th from 6:00-7:00 pm and we would love for you to join us! This is an opportunity for students to share their learning with you and to experience learning from other grade levels. Due to the nature of the event and the importance of keeping all students safe, please remain with your children at all times. Look forward to seeing you all there.

In preparation for Valentine's Day, your 3rd grader will need to decorate a box/bag for their Valentine mail. Also, a pink paper will soon be coming home in your child's Tuesday Folder with a class list and instructions for bringing in a decorated Valentine box/bag and Valentine’s for classmates

Thank you in advance to our homeroom parents for organizing our Valentine’s Day class party and to all parents helping at the event. The festivities will be so much fun, and will include the ultimate thrill….checking out the treasures that await in their Valentine’s Day boxes. I love watching the excitement that builds as the children tear open their envelopes!

Monday, January 21st is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a school holiday. I hope you all enjoy the extra family time.

Stay warm,
Mrs. McDonald

Happy New Year!

Dear Parents,

Happy Birthday to Sanmita! We enjoyed celebrating her birthday on Friday!

Happy New Year! We had a great week getting back into all of our routines for third grade. We’re taller, we’re sporting new haircuts, and we have lots to say about all the wonderful experiences and gifts we received over the holidays. We are looking forward to new learning discoveries and the start of a wonderful semester. We have many fun and engaging units of study coming up as we prepare for fourth grade.

Enjoying your children,
Mrs. McDonald

WELCOME to the second semester!  At this point students should have fluency with basic multiplication facts and using strategies for problem solving/reading comprehension without reminders.  We will be adding an additional item to our existing morning work routine, so being on time and using the time well is essential. The pace and rigor will pick up this semester as well!

REPORT CARDS
Report cards will be in this week's Tuesday folder. Please sign one of the copies and return to school in the brown envelope.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
This is also a great time to re-fresh your child’s supply of glue sticks, markers, colored pencils, and sharpened pencils. Many students have misplaced their colored pencils and markers and most of them have used up the glue sticks and the eraser on their pencils! Thank you!

This is  the primary way that the district gets information from students about what they like about their schools and the things that could be better. The results from both surveys  are used as part of the campus improvement planning (CIP) process.Thank you for your participation. You are a critical part of our success!
