Mrs. McDonald's 3rd Grade Class

Sunday, December 2, 2018

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Aattoja for being our marvelous MVP of the week. We enjoyed learning more about our special friend when she shared her banner with us on Friday.

What a great week for 3rd grade!  Everyone came back rested and ready for school. We’ve been very productive. For the next three weeks we’ll be pressing on with our studies, but also enjoying some fun crafts and performances. Watch out December, here we come!

Warmly,
Mrs. McDonald

NUTCRACKER FIELD TRIP
Thank you for returning your child’s permission slip to our annual “Nutcracker” performance.  The date is December 13th and we are seeing the second act. Due to the timing, we need ALL students to bring lunch from home that day. We will eat in our class before we board the bus. Also, I encourage the children to dress appropriately.  Some of us like to really dress up. This is always one of my favorite field trips that we attend.

TAG REFERRAL- 2018-2019
The window to refer students for TAG testing opened Monday, November 12, 2018 and will close Friday, December 7, 2018 at 4:00pm. If you would like to refer a student for testing please visit the campus website under "What's Happening" for more information.

HOMEWORK
Planners are completed daily.  Please check and initial your child’s planner nightly.

Students are required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per night and record a quick response on their reading logs. Signed logs are DUE every Wednesday. Book Bucks are earned with every 100 minutes read. Students can “purchase” books from our “Book Buck Libraries” with 10 book bucks.

Nightly reading is crucial to your child's overall reading success. Reading should be an interactive process, so please remember to initial or sign your child's log before turning it in on Wednesday.
